How to play NFT

So to this point i have not participated in any cryptos because I am dumb and still don’t understand how computers doing math creates intrinsic value.

However the concept of NFT intrigues me and I am curious of a way to play this.

So let’s imagine NFT increase 10,000 fold over the next decade. Is Etherium the coin that benefits from this the most? Does Bitcoin benefit at all? Does increased use for NFT necessarily translate to higher Etherium prices?

Have you not already lost enough money in previous gambles?

I am a huge sceptic of crypto, but at this stage a small wager is warranted. I am waiting for a pullback and planning to get into Ether.

For me, I've underestimated the size of the illegal trade - be it illicit drugs, political bribery, tax evasion or ordering a murder. They're likely the primary users and it's a gigantic market.
Yet I still cannot determine which would be the one or few cryptos that will dominate. Hell, even Dogecoin has value so how do you make sense of it?

Ether makes most sense to me, given NFT madness.

We don't know, but not necessary. Bitcoin's usage is actually dropping as its price increasing.

I have been waiting for the technically more advanced cryptos to take over the obsolete, but it is really hard to slow down the hype train.

So just like Betamax was actually better than VHS, it isn't always the technical superiority that decides usage/value. And 2-3 decades later neither of them exist.
