How to never get an account wiped out?

06/06/07 +8.9%

New record high.

Since 104! days I am making 2.7% avg. EVERY day.

Target is to reach the 3%/day mark this quarter.

06/07/07 -89.1%

Very bad mistake in money management, judgement of the down trend and technical analysis.

I need a lot of time to recover:

75 days for an average of 3% per day.
46 days for an average of 5% per day.
29 days for an average of 8% per day.
24 days for an average of 10% per day.
20 days for an average of 12% per day.
16 days for an average of 15% per day.

Risk was 20.8% of the account.

Risk to Reward ratio need to be log because of high percentages.

Skill was there today and experience. Trade was a strangle.

I know that I have a long way to reach new tops.

Long strangles all the way. Great fun hunting.

Big dependence on big intraday moves.

I am back in the game with 2.4% avg. since 108 days!

Focusing on wrong goal. If you dont want your account wiped out - easy. Use small positions.

IS that really your goal?

Dude - work out what you REALLY want.

Im serious.

If your system will be anything near as good in real-life why not commit real money to trade this, and let's watch your success, with real account balances and profit figures?

With this account I learned how not to blow up an account.

I learned it by compiling all the information and sharing it. I lost money in the last years. Now I know that to win is a function of controlling and documenting my account.

Because I am doing it since 109 trading days, I know what I want.

I also outlined my goals many times in this thread.

My system is live and in real $s.
But I don't care about them.

I care about two things.

1) not to wipe out my account (see thread title)
2) make an average of 3% gain every day

The reason why I can post that huge gains is because the market is exceptional volatile these days. I am spending also a lot of time and effort to research and trade (full time).
