Actually it's brilliant in it's retardness, in 40+ years it didn't occur to me to compare cadence of a language with an object falling down the stairs. Once you start realizing some languages actually SOUND a bit like that, it gets hilarious:

- Metal pot falling down the stairs: Chinese.
- Wooden bat falling down the stairs: Indian.
- Paper cup falling down the stairs: African (Bushmen).
 
My high school freshman history teacher said the Chinese throw 3 forks up and let them hit the ground. I imagine he would have been fired these days.
 
We should all be able to take a joke and make fun of ourselves, not even, but especially based on our shortcomings. It is liberating and takes off some of the burden of those shortcomings.
