how to get a listing of NYSE&NASDAQ?

I'm looking for companies that were listed in 2013 on the NYSE & NASDAQ.
Where would I see?

Try:

http://eoddata.com/symbols.aspx

That will give you currently listed symbols though. If you only want 2013 symbols, you will have to cross-check for (de-)listed symbols in 2014.

There is a number of other places that you can get the information too. Just use Google.

This is a far more complex question than initially appears.

It could be:
a) Companies that INITIALLY listed on NYSE&NASDAQ in 2013. Does this mean US listings, ADRs? What about other instruments such as Preferreds, Structured Investment Products and the myriad of hybrid instruments out there?

b) Companies that were trading on NYSE & NASDAQ in 2013. Do you want the current symbol, previous symbol, and/or details about where they are listed now. How do you want to handle companies that have shifted to OTC trading? What about delistings?

elc1988 - what, in detail, are you looking for? And why?
