How would i found out the number of shorts there are on a stock at any given time?

Go to Yahoo Finance.
Type in ORCL.
On the left hand side click on 'Key Statistics'.
You'll find what you're looking for under 'Share Statictics'.

Mind you it is from Yahoo and the numbers could be off a bit.

Remember, if a stock shows on Reg SHO, the actual number of fails to deliver, which could be mismarked longs or shorts not borrowed, could be a multiple of the reported short position. That number is not even reported to the company.
Also, there is an "ex - clearing" factor, which are the fails between bd's that are known but to them.

I think, upon further review, we "out of the loop" investors need to deal with, "heavily shorted" or "not heavily shorted".

My next questions to the poster was "Why do you want to know and now that you know what are you going to do with that information"?
I'm not sure I understand what he is asking. It reads to me like he could be asking the number of holders of short positions as opposed to actual number of shares short.
