I would really like to disable this PITA. I have a small account and I only use Ubuntu with no root account enabled and good physical security for my two trading computers.

If you have a phone with a fingerprint reader, the IB 2FA becomes almost effortless when you install the IB app on your phone.
I don't know, Friday IB was blaming TMobile for my inability to get an auth code. And my Note 3 doesn't have fingerprint reader and I like that phone too much to "upgrade" to the crap they have made ever since. I now have 5 Note 3's that's how much I like it. I am not going to change. Nor will I change carriers. Tmo and ATT are the only serious GSM carriers in the US and when I go overseas I need to be able to use my same phone with a local SIM card. ATT did me dirty about 12 years ago and you only have to jerk me around and treat me like they did once, to make me kinda not like you ever ever ever ever ever ever again, maybe longer.
If I can't then no biggie, I will just move everything back to my Alpaca account. Not day trading all that much right now anyway.
