How to deal with those non-Americans messing with threads on American National Intere

I think the Americans should carry this a bit further. I mean they should take the consequence and rename a few other things which have the word "French" in them, eg
- The Freedom Quarter in New Orleans
- Freedom Letters for you know what (nudge-nudge-wink-wink)
- or why not call the whole country "Freedom"?

Ignorance is a blessing. USA did not join the court. Nor did Russia, India, China, Pakistan and lots and lots of other countries.

Moreover USA congress passed a law authorizing the government to take whatever actions necessary to prevent Americans from being prosecuted by the court.

The court is completely useless and powerless. You'll have to wait forever before you see American soldiers tried by European bureaucrats.

Skeptic, I share your disappointment. For me a crime is a crime, and no matter who committed it, they should be prosecuted, by European bureaucrats or whomever!
Just another example of that unprincipled utilitarian attitude of the US in its dealings with other countries.

Somewhere I have read that more than half of the vocabulary of the English language is derived from the French. How about eliminating them too?
Imagine GWB lost for words when delivering his speach on "the state of the Union".
 
They might have a word for it but the US has actually put it into practice - creating the most vibrant economy in the world - while the French have sunk into a socialistic quagmire (that goes for Germany as well).

Babak and MSFE: both of you may have a point here. However, do you realise that the Americans have an English word for entrepreneur, which much more exactly describes the "quagmire" situation of the US economy.

The word is "undertaker".
