Good grief, has this man read any history?
.....if you got the money......other than that France is the only country with true individual freedom (closely followed by most of the world) . France tried to help the US to shake off the shackles of colonialism, therefore tis a pity that the US now practices economic imperialism ( oil) yet criticizes others, rather like the thief becoming indignant that someone stole his wallet.
Hate to shatter your illusions old chap, but America is not the most desired location in the world.
I'll get off my horse if you stop confusing your sphincter with your mouth. The oil argument has been debunked and is alive only to the true conspiracy theorists like you.Quote from toby400:
Happaboy,
Get off your high horse.
It might surprise you that most countries in the world have blood on their hands. Why - even uncle sam murdered most of the red Indians (True Americans) for their land.
Yesterday Red Indians, today - anywhere where there is oil?
So don't hold America up to be the good guy. The fact that people died is enough to class a country as one with blood on it's hands: not the number of people killed.
So yes, Uncle Sam is up their with the rest of the murderers in history. I repeat, no country has clean hands or deserves the moral high ground.
Is Korea next for invasion by Uncle sam, or will the fact that its' got nuclear weapons( and might fight back) and no oil have a bearing on events?
Quote from hapaboy:
We are the glue that holds the world together. Without the policeman on the block, chaos would reign. And you know it.
Ya know, I often think the same thing. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your level of disgust) it is in our best interests, AND THE BEST INTERESTS FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD, for the policeman to stay on the block and do the job despite the ungratefulness and abuse we have to endure. I think that even those who love to hurl abuse at us realize that we are the thin blue line that keeps the world from totally deteriorating. I mean, who are they gonna call when their neighbor invades? France?Quote from skeptic123:
You are absolutely right. The problem is the policeman on the block is feared by thugs and appreciated by honest residents. We seem to be hated by both categories. The policeman gets paid for his effort and risks. We actually pay to do the job. All we get in return is accusations in police abuse and police brutality. That does not make sense. Isn't it time for us to get another job?
I was strongly pro-war believing that after all it was for the good of the whole humanity to remove a thug like Saddam, liberate Iraqi people and add stability to the region. But if the world is so much against it, let them have it their way. Let's save money and american lives and drop this whole matter. If they want to keep Saddam - fine, let them keep him. They want to deal with North Korea, more power to them. They want to apease other dictators and blood suckers - not our problem.
We have so many domestic problems, we can use the money and manpower we save to fix a lot of them. We should continue supporting and protecting our few true friends and let the world sort everything else out without us. We'll manage just fine, let's see if they will without a cop on the block.
