Hello msfe, and thank you for the compliments.
Yes we live in a beautiful country, although not all is really in order. It is difficult to say why exactly we have all the problems that we have. Perhaps it is our ethnic diversity, perhaps our geographical structure with the more than 10 000 islands, or maybe those thousands of years of history, I just don't know. Certainly a solution is not coming forward from loud mouths like you find here, who keep telling us that "not long ago there were cannibals" in Indonesia etc. Actually, that is true, in some parts in Sumatra, Sulawesi and even Borneo (the Indonesian part is called Kalimantan) there are still "headhunters", and I suggest you stay away from there, unless you are desparately looking for a job.

If you are interested in developments in Indonesia, there are some websites of local English language newspapers, eg http://www.thejakartapost.com/headlines.asp
Personally I have also been to Switzerland many years ago. I attended an MBA programme in a business school in Geneva, but because of my passport it was very cumbersome to travel to other countries in Europe. I was impressed by your country's deeply rooted democracy. Most people I met were democrats, not like that American party, but in the true sense of the word. I wish we could have similar thinking in Asia, but our traditions are simply not such that people easily adopt to what all sorts of politicians tell us are "western values".
Terima kasih!!!
