Also, people should know: Never get in a cops face, even if you think you're superior due to your service in the military.

Just as you do not necessarily have to show a cop proof of your identification, a police officer doesn't necessarily have to show you his either.

When pulled over, just remain in your vehicle and allow the officer to approach you.

Never jump out and start waving your hands around and taking swings at cops.

Don't get tazed, steal police cruiser, crash police cruiser, etc.

When I was 16, I was out drinking and partying with some friends. I had let my friend drive my car and he parked facing the wrong side of the road. Anyway (that same friend) got in a fight at a party nearby and the police came. As we were leaving the police saw my car parked the wrong way and started talking to me and asked if I had been drinking. Of course I lied and said no. They asked if they could search my car and I said no. They shined the light inside and and in the trunk of the car I had an empty bottle of MD 20/20. They said "oh whats this?" I panicked, and lied and I think I said that was from a long time ago or something. They knew I was lying, but the police were really cool with me (despite all my lying and smart mouthing) they let me go without arresting me, but I think they gave me a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the road if I remember right.

I have no idea why they let me go, but I'm thinking maybe it was because I told them they couldn't search my car, or because I am white. :P

Of course 8 years later I get pulled over by a black guy and arrested for DUI (even though I was under the legal limit when i took the breathalizer.) Only reason they suspected I had been drinking was my girlfriend at the time had a beer in the car and spilled it some 4 hours earlier. Passed the sobriety test with walking a straight line and everything, but he said my eyes didnt move right or something when I followed his flashlight with my eyes. Black cops are the worst because they will lie just so they can arrest a white boy. Thats why you really have to know your rights.

Nah, you didn't panic. You kept your cool and, by lying, you tried your best to keep yourself from having a shitty night sobering up on a cold jail bunk.

You didn't let your buzz get the better of you, and get you tazed the way this guy's did.

If you wish to video record a police incident in progress, then do as Lucrum did here in his video.

Remain cordial, and make sure to not interrupt their work.

Also, try not to instigate the situation in order to make your ass known.
