how secure are IB accounts?

In what ways is it possible to lose the money in IB accounts besides from placing bad trades?

If I die or become a vegetable, will the money in my IB account be transferred to a family member?

I actually posted this in the IB forum but it didn't post.
 
i guess the rules on this depend on which country your are in but in general this is an issue of making a will, ie what would happen to your house or your car if you die etc - same thing basically.

you did not get a reply most likely because the question has nothing to do with IB. Where the money goes when you die/become a vegetable is dependent on the laws where you live, not which broker holds your account
