How not to do business in China

Do you take everything from your media for granted ? Have you ever been to China ? You should really come , and then return and tell your friends that 90% things you hear about China in your newspapers are bullshit.

I have once been to USA and I am now just an independant trader here in Shanghai, a happy bird in a cage, in your words, but guess what, I would never trade my place with you, bcz in my understanding , ordinary US people have been deprived of the rights of knowing what is happening on other parts of the world. Or they just do not care about that .


You can search my past posts and see how conveniently ordinary Chinese people can have access to internet. FYI, the number of Chinese internet users just surpassed the number of USA internet users this year.

Just to be fair,
i) there is censorship in China but it is ridiculous to say that normal Chinese can't access internet.
ii) most ordinary Chinese think that the Communist Party is the biggest organized gang in China. Having that said, most of us think that China situation is too complicated. Removing them will mean too much of a shock. And the politicians in other countries are corrupted too.
iii) Taoism and Buddhism hv very little audience in China. Even its so called roots are disappearing. What rules here is Commercialism.
iv) Even if we are NOT talking about McDonald's, if a local firm does such an insensitive thing ppl will still protest
v) Tibet has a long history with China (and thus China government says that it is part of China) but Communist China does hv a history of suppressing it in the past (and thus foreign government may support its independence). In the recent case there, US/EU reporters just report the Tibet ppl were attacked but actually they were really the one who attack others. You may argue that they are angry for a reason but it doesn't mean that the reporters can massage the stories. The so-called facts they report are not true and there are tons of manipulations. They should report both sides of the story and may even reach the "China government is evil" conclusion. But they are not reporting in an unbiased way at all
vi) the reporters may NOT really massage the stories b'coz they don't like China. They hv a long record of having up stories to please the readers. Maybe (I guess) they did so b'coz China-bashing is more popular. If they present in a more plain-vanilla way they will be accused and lose their audience.

Things are distorted in a huge huge way.

Yeah , US is not the biggest donator. But it is among the biggest, and probably the biggest of western countries. Anyway,the number is still changing...

I think your friends meant traveling out of the country is difficult if you're Chinese. You have to fill in more forms than would be the case in the west, plus there's usually some guanxi involved.

But most Chinese see the land within their borders as providing more than ample opportunities for travel. Plus the cost is prohibitive when the average weekly wage is 500RMB ($70).

I advocate US do no business with China.
China doesn't need this surplus. With this green paper, China can buy nothing useful from U.S. How smart are Americans, get all the products with pieces of useless green paper.

All US doing is exploiting the cheaper labors and pollute the environment in China while all the benefits are ripped by the Americans.
