Quote from diputs:
Ideally I would like to find a mentor. There is this company that is offering 8, three day trading classes, and 6 months time with a mentor, plus software, for $36,000. I do not believe you have to take all the classes, so costs can be lower. Some of the classes take place on the floor of the CBOE. (You probably can guess what the company is now. It is supposedly the only one that can do this)
Are you seriously considering this? Paying $36,000 for "professional trader classes" is a total waste of time and money. You would have to be a ten-pound-watermellon-headed-moron to spend that kind of money on "trader classes". For that amount of money, you can have a real education from an accredited university that might actually get you a job as a trader. Look at the masters programs at the Stuart Graduate School of Business. They have affiliations with every exchange in Chicago, along with plenty of institutions. To answer your question directly, I would not drop a penny in a tin can for so-called "professional trader classes".
