How much would you pay for professional trading classes?

Quote from Grob109:

Usually the deal has several more components.

1. A minimum residency requirement (6 months in my experience)

2. Limited POA's from day one for two accounts (one for commodities and the other for the capital surplus from the commodities account).

3. A requirement to let profits run for both parties

4. A guarantee of capital by the trainer (your words)

5. Trainer cancelation clause if student integrity becomes an issue.

6. An end date settlement (you are off the mark on this as well) specified before day one that terminates the following:

a. The deal.

b. The limited POA that was acting as an override.

c. The guarantee of capital.

d. The account(s) is closed and distribution is made.

In effect, it is a free ride for the student if there is an integrity issue. The 250k is way off the mark just because of trainer time available and how such experts are dealing with amounts of capital they usually have running.

No kidding the details are off the mark. It was an extemporaneous post, meant to be outside the box of the OPs pedantic mindset on the topic.

There really is nothing new?!
:p

$0

If they are "professional" and at the same time are willing to teach you something means that they had no success in trading and belive that they could only capitalize by charging the fee for "education" :)
Here is the joke that I already posted before, but it suites here very well:
Q: Why did the trader fall from the roof?
A: He slipped down.
Q: Why did the second trader fall from the roof?
A: He was trying to save the first one and slipped down too…
Q: Why did the third trader fall from the roof?
A: He jumped down trying to understand the mistakes that the first two traders made.
Q: Why did the forth trader fall from the roof?
A: He followed the third because he thought that the downtrend has begun…
Q: Why did the fifth trader fall from the roof?
A: He was learning the experiences that the falling traders had, because he decided to write the book about them…
Q: Why did the sixth trader fall from the roof?
A: He was reading the book that the fifth trader wrote…

There are no secrets to learn about Trading Markets!!!
There are no better trader for Your money then You!!!

Helpful points' KrsnA '' ttrading is like all sports'';
and frankly it can be more difficult than most all sports.

Actually think Jack Schwager 3 top trader books are underpriced/a bargain @ even retail,
more so on sale;
his trading course doesnt have many / or near as many good reviews. Same witrh DR Van Tharps books compared to his trading course

A Olpmpic champ skeet shooter can /has to hit about 98 or 99% on mechanical sporting clays;
on live game birds,[more than 1 set of emotions envolved ]same distance, much , much , much less % hit:D

What a ridiculous statement.

Not ridiculous at all. This is generally true with SOME exceptions.

I tried searching, but I did not find any results.

How much would you pay for professional trading classes and a professional mentor?

$0, $10,000, $30,000.

Ideally I would like to find a mentor. There is this company that is offering 8, three day trading classes, and 6 months time with a mentor, plus software, for $36,000. I do not believe you have to take all the classes, so costs can be lower. Some of the classes take place on the floor of the CBOE. (You probably can guess what the company is now. It is supposedly the only one that can do this)

How much should one spend on you trading education? Is your education worth more or less than what you pay in computers and software and data feeds? I have read a lot of books, and I am still making a lot of basic mistakes. Over time I will learn from them and improve my trading. Probably losing some money in the process.

I might be able to avoid the mistakes and learn within a faster time period by taking some classes.

I am not looking for a get rich quick scheme, or trying to shortcut the downfalls of learning. But would paying for an education from professional traders be beneficial? And at what cost?

Any thoughts from the career traders?

Sounds like that course is 99% overpriced;
once one learns TA skills, which you could pick up most of that for free on elitetrader.com;
the part that can be tough, is everything changes with money involved.

And people who are skilled @ money management can have it even rougher taking a loss.

An excellant library can be bought for $ 35 k less than that COURSE;
most questions could be answered free here also.

So no, to answer your question,
repeating pattern of $0 for that seminar, especially with IBD,
investors.com
seminar offered for many times less.William O Neil seminar.
