How much time do you spend trading ?

Quote from PhiliC:

You guys gotta be kidding me. I trade and work at this 14 hours a day 5 days week. Saturday and Sunday too. That's what you are up against.

Trust me -- you may make a few tics here or there w/ your hobby method, but you're just missing too much of the big picture -- and that's where the real money is made. There is no way the guy down in Mexico (banging his wh...ore while trading) can be in tune w/ what's going on in the financal world. This sh....t requires incredibly hard work.

My guess is that at the first sign of trouble you part timers will pack it in for the next "great" thing that comes down the pike. Real Estate flipping anyone?

The fact is there are people like philc who think that because they "have" to work sooo many hours to be successful at this Biz then surely everyone else has to. This is one of the biggest human misconceptions people have about human endeavour.

What people like phil and timothy cannot come to grips with is that there are people born into this World who are just flat out more talented or more intelligent than they are. And these people possess that certain x factor that enables them to be highly successful based on a relatively small amount of time invested !!

So you two guys just need to get over that. And realize that this is Life. And Life sometimes aint fair.
Just because you have to work your fingers to the bone to be successful dont assume everyone else has to.

Please spare us !!!
:p

I am happy with my job and work from 9am to 1pm CST every other day, doing what I do best, trading Hogs.

I'll also do some electronic ES and NQ trading from 2 to 4 and a little overnight.

Quote from johngo:

Yep, an amatuer I am all right. I love to trade in my amateur style, which is scoring an easy 2 points in the ER2 in the first 30 minutes of the day (on typically) 3 contracts. Win rate, 80%, stop 1.2 points. Then I am done.

Is this the monster bucks? No.

Does it give me time to laugh with my 2 kid, go kayaking and climbing, and work in my garden, while helping my family financially? Yes.

"Success" can come in many flavors, and not all of them are measured by the length of your yacht.

In prosperity,
Johngo

this is the perfect post...seriously...great job!!!!!...that is it...total focus and trade 3 contracts and you are done...I am really impressed..proves, it can be done!!
