How much more difficult is trading today versus 100 years ago?

With all the new technology, algos, etc.

I am not 100 years old (yet) so just a guess: Easier to trade today. But harder to be profitable.

talk about now vs few decades ago.


Few decades ago, there was no computer.
so you had to plot your own chart on graph paper.
If you wanted to plot Moving Average, that'd be terrible! You had to do some mathematical calculations on paper.
When you wanted to place order, you had to call the broker / remiser.


Nowadays, charts are available on the computer.
and you enter the order yourself from your computer.

Yes, easier now. We lose money easier and faster compared to 100 yrs ago.

If you put Pele at his prime in a match today, how would he compare?

Pele would be even better now with modern fitness and nutrition as well as better referees who would allow his skill to flourish. He'd be banging in the goals for fun.

If you are talented then it would be even easier now. Unfortunately, it has also become easier for the majority to lose money as well. This is borne out by the stats at brokers which show that more than 70% lose money.
