How much full time proprietary traders earn?

If you do it right, you could make 100k/day.

Top earner at Worldco in 2002 =100k/day, no kidding, ask any ex-Worldco trader.

Top earner at a mook firm = 20k in a day

Somebody at Worldco made 200k in one day in the summer of 2002.

seven figure salary possible at a good firm.

negative salary at an ultra-mook firm.

the world could laugh and mock day traders/prop traders. i don't care.

let them jeer you. they usually get hammered soon or later.

probably 4-5 guys in this prop shop earn more than $1m/year then there's probably 10-15 guys below them who earn anywhere from 200-600k, then the newer guys below them, anything up to 200K.

What old traders say to new traders

"90% of traders lose all their money"

What new traders hear old traders say

"10% of traders LIKE YOU will make a million dollars per year or more!"

Similar story within brokerages, with less risk.

Do you know anyone who has made a full time living trading/investing in stocks? I have not nor have been able to do that myself. Or how much full time proprietary traders earn? Any advice is appreciated.

Wouldn't the better question featured strategy ? Profitability is entirely dependent upon successful strategy and implementation of that strategy. The money is really just a natural consequence of that.

Exactly....and now I wonder, given the speed of intraday trading, how many of the successful traders are using gray-box systems....i.e. they are given the signals, but enter the trades manually ?

Quote from emg:

of more than 500 prop traders i know, 98% loses while the 2% are successful.

the losers average -$25K minimum annual income

the winners average $200K minimum annual income

They just lose!
