How much did Nison actually make from trading?

Random question. This guy basically is the pioneer of candlestick trading in the West. So is there any info on whether this guy ever put his money where his mouth is and GAINED?
 
As I recall, and this is a long time ago, the purpose of the books was to publicize and popularize candlestick charting, not to advance any sort of method or strategy. I played with them for quite a while but eventually went back to bars because I saw no advantage to candles. In fact they were in many cases a disadvantage.
