How many traders are actually making a living?

There a lot of noise in many of these samples. Why aren't darts and volume lower if the failure rate is so high - new entrants? At some point, the numbers should decline. Look at options where retail has a bigger presence than other asset classes and the numbers are still pretty strong.

99percent of that retail volume aren’t traders trying to earn a full time living.

this thread makes me understand why "YOLO" trades are so popular among young individuals that are new to the market. Like, screw it, there's only 1% making big money and they all know more than me so im just going to pick one and buy all the calls or puts i can afford haha.

SBA is the lender of last resort and a government-guaranteed program or nobody would take those risks. Banks have passed, VCs have passed, angel investors have passed - by the time the deal get's to SBA it has been passed upon by anyone with a pulse.
Have you ever applied for a SBA loan before? Not as easy as you think.
