How many stock to watch?

Hi, I would like to know what do you think about following and trading just 1 stock? In this case, I would know the nature of this stock and its trend very well.

Or, should I use a scanner and only trade stocks that have high momentum at that time? With this strategy, I don't have to wait for the trend to happen, but start to trade the trend right away.

FYI-I like to day trade. Which of the 2 strategies would you suggest?
 
Watch the top stock from each major sector: Banks, Brokers, Semis, Tech, Drugs, Cyclicals, and Retail.

This way you can play on the themes affecting each sector, and keep an eye on rotation.
 
trade stocks you know well and are comfortable with.

during the day, i scan mainly 9 stocks and after hours, i scan through a stable of 38 stocks; and look for setups for the next day.
