How many contracts?

2 contracts is too conservative? it's very little? I have started to be profitable and I don't want to do any nonsense. I want to progress quickly but I also don't want to do any nonsense. Can someone advise me?

...so ES 5 pts, so 20 contracts $200 per pt, problem is it it slips 50pts ( too much for ES ?? ) then your suddenly down $10000 in 1 hit. likely 1/2 that so 5K, can ofcourse spike your way, but weirdly never has for me :(

10, $100 per pt, more than enough for anyone to live off imho!!

Yer off on your math?

ES $50 per point. So 20 contracts is $1000 per point. If it slips 50 points you are down $50,000

OP, 2 contracts is plenty with $100,000.

Hello traders, I'm curious.
Suppose they have $ 100,000 and have a profitable system.
With how many contracts do you feel comfortable operating in the intraday with the future ES?

How much a loss per trade will it take for you to not get any sleep?

OP, 2 contracts is plenty with $100,000.

This is more suited to my personality, I prefer to work 8 hours concentrated making small profits, than making a big profit with just one operation. This also has an obvious advantage. Learning accelerates. The disadvantage: I will not get rich in a short time, but I will not be so at risk.

What worries me is not a normal loss, a stop jump of 1 or 2 points. I am more worried about an unexpected event where the index drops many points and the stop does not work.
How often have you seen this happen, where the stop does not work?
