How long does Series 7 license stay valid after voluntary termination(U-5 filling)?

It "Expires" 2 years from your termination/resignation.

Then you get a gig @ a Prop firm for one day and it's good for 2 more years!

The guy had worked at prop firm only for 2 weeks after passing S7 exam, terminated(U-5 filled) and 1.5 years have past since then. Does this fact somehow change the 2 year limit? Is his S7 still valid?
