How long has everyone been trading?

I am the newbie!! I started trading live one month ago with $2500 using thinkorswim.

I am going to school to be an RN... Despite the controversial healthcare bill, the demand for nurses will be evident for years to come and possibly be higher now...

For the past 5 years, I have studied everything I can get my hands on that pertains to the markets. I dabbled with forex for a few a months and didn't really like it. Trichet or Bernanke could fart and affect the EUR/USD, so I learned real quick that kind of nonsense wasn't for me. Also, I do not have the capital to sit around and scalp stocks all day. I wish this were the case, as that is my strategy in my paper trade account ;) lol

That is what turned me on to options, limited risk. Therefore, it will take me longer to blow this first $2500!!!! Eventually, I would like to get to the point where trading supplements my income. Until then, I am enjoying the ride as well as the knowledge I aquire as each trading day passes.

Ten Lessons
-----------
1) Daytrading is for dummies
2) Holding is the game
3) No such thing as investing (since 1999)
4) Dividends can make you shitloads of money without having to work.
5) Short term capital gain taxes kill
6) Have a business plan. Follow rules.
7) Know fundamentals and technicals
8) Dont put too much faith in technical indicators. They are for idiots. Watch price. Thats all that matters.
9) Feel happy? Sell. See others unhappy? Buy.
10) Risk is reward in disguise.

Hmmmmm

But in the how many stocks do you hold at once?
