How is this free trade?

Quote from peilthetraveler:

Weath of a nation is a byproduct of initiative, inventiveness, hope, optimism, and faith. Reserve status has nothing to do with it.

People of China knows how corrupt their government is when it comes to controlling business...this destroys hope, optimism and faith. Inventiveness is lacking in china too. We tell china what to make for us. They counterfeit everything they can because they dont know how to invent anything themselves.

If reserve status had anything to do with it, then why isnt canada paying much lower wages? Dont say because they border with the US, because mexico also borders with us and they make very little.

Per capita GDP for Canada is $38k per year and Mexico is $13k per year.

It is because they have enormous natural reserves. They are a reserve currency to a degree.

England has no natural reserves. Why is their currency so strong then?

Many countries in Africa have tons of natural reserves, yet their economy is in turmoil. China also has lots of natural reserves.

England gas north sea oil. African countries have leaders like malcolm mugabee.

It seems like most people on this site believe that the Chinese model of self-preservation is/ would have been the answer for the US. ...rather than outsourcing all of our jobs and hiring workers overseas. But eventually...won't the Chinese depend upon the economic health of the rest of the world too? Outsourcing appears to hurt the US in the short run, but when it's allowed to follow it's natural course, over time, isn't it better for the world and ultimately for the US in the long run?

I really don't have any answers here, I'm just trying to stimulate the debate.

That seems to be the opinion of a majority of people and they are great points.

I'm always hearing people rant about how the US should go back to a manufacturing based economy and how it will fix things in this country and that is fine but they fail to realize some important things.

Do they realize what standard of living a manufacturing based economy has ??

China's economy is just that. How many of you would like to live in the shoes of a typical Chinese worker ?

Think about that for a second.

You apparently haven't done your research! A$$hole "power elites" don't like the idea of people being middle class...they might get free time...and get ideas on how to make money and be free from the slavery the "power elite" have them in...so, the "power elite" set up the World Trade Organization to steal the technology and give the jobs to "undeveloped" nations!

Don't believe me?

Check out this link - go and read Article 7 for yourself! Read Article 66 while you are at it. Especially here in the US...we have to ship the jobs and tech overseas - it is part of A TREATY THAT THE US HAS SIGNED!!! READ YOUR CONSTITUTION - A TREATY HAS MORE LEGAL WEIGHT THAN THE LAWS OF THE NATION!!!!!
