it's much simpler than that.

some people direct their lives, some people wait to be directed, some salivate at the prospect of directing others, some salivate at the prospect of someone else directing others, the "chosen few" prefer not to be directed ....

"Do unto..." is a good direction to be pulled and pushed ...
