This is just highway robbery. I wonder who those investors were? Obviously they were not sophisticated investors even though they may have been accredited, did not ask the right questions.

Futures funds are a hedge to stock funds. They made high profits in 2008 when stocks plunged.

Never buy what an investment bank is selling. As the bloomberg article said, you're better off in a low cost index fund. Having said that, I bet these futures funds are probably poised for good returns after this period of shakeout. The rangebound type markets are where fees and commissions eat up all the returns.
