Out of curiousity, I went back to some old untouched data backup folders and found the original MBTNavigator.exe file that McAfee finds the realadm-vnc and it was downloaded in October 2007 with file size 4,853 kb. My previous guesses were probably wrong and I'm now thinking that this was part of the MBTNavigator file when originally downloaded and not an altered file.

RealVNC is an application that allows remote access to your computer. It's a very common (and legitimate) application but because of what it is capable of (remote access) the application is being reported as virus in some anti virus softtware.
It is packaged into multichart so that you can ask for remote technical support when needed. The helpdesk.exe is a reverse VNC server not the standard VNC server meaning that it is only possible to remote access your computer when you initiate the connection to TSSupport. I'm a customer of multichart and i've used that application for remote support a few times.
I wouldn't worried too much about it. When you install a software there are so many ways to send data out from your computer without triggering any virus alert. For one thing they can send hidden data out randomly without any pattern while you're downloading historical data or whenever you have any internet traffic going. Once you installed a software you just have to trust the vendor. Otherwise don't install it at all. Installing the most sophisticated Anti-virus isn't going to protect you.
The only fool proof way to protect yourself is to put your trading logic in a DLL or better yet on another physical machine. Only use the charting software to get the data or better yet you can always do away with charting and build the price bars yourself with just the price feed. That way there is no need to use any 3rd party charting software. And then there is always the option to write your own charting software but then who needs charts to trade anyways? Just plug the price feed to excel and go
