This is the "Getcha" phrase that the liberals love to use in the Zimmerman case. Generally we ignore it, because its hard to put ourselves in that position and we just don't want to think about it because if we hold the same beliefs (that zimmerman is innocent of murder) that means we would have to hold the person that killed our kid innocent of murder. So I decided to really think about it. What if it was my kid in the exact same situation. A black guy patroling the neighborhood shoots my white son in self defense.
This would be pretty hard to deal with and I have to say, and that no matter what happened, I would probably want revenge. Notice I said revenge, not justice. I can't say 100% what I would do, but there is a good probability I might lie about saying I heard my sons voice screaming for help, just to get revenge on the guy that shot him. I would probably tell everyone all my sons good qualities and never show his bad. If i only had thuggy looking pictures of him over the last few years, yeah...I might give the media a younger innocent looking picture of him. And once I started this lie and suddenly it became a media frenzy, I would be VERY VERY careful what I said in public. It is possible I would not come clean ever as my desire for revenge would be greater than that for justice, and in that situation, most people would do everything to protect that lie. At some point maybe even believing the lie to be true (If you tell yourself a lie enough times, you start to believe it)
I would be the last person in the world to decide what justice is, but I would want the world to believe I'm the first person to decide what it is.
In short...It's very very possible, I might do the exact same thing that Trayvons mother did.
