How hard is full-time Trading

Why don't people realize that there is a whole lot in between ............ boring and exciting.

Well unless they are manic-depressive types.

A few here (and many no longer allowed here) no doubt. :D

I know many "full-timers" who are done trading within the first 2 hours. And most of that time is just patiently waiting for a setup. Not at all like some action junkies that a few above posters want you to believe.

I consider myself a full time trader with a full time job. I consider my day job as just a low volatility investment that returns a steady paycheck, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings, and credentials for mortgage, etc. I mostly trade ETFs and spreads. I study the markets in the evenings and weekends and manage positions based upon the general direction on the longer timeframe but may take some shorter timeframe counter trades depending on how busy I am at my dayjob. My day job isn't in the financial industry but the skill sets are complementary.

Its never boring as there is room for improvement and optimization.

Ive learned to manage my positions to keep my stress levels down. The more that I know the less stressful it is.

My dating/sex life has definitely gone down since Ive started.....Right now I consider both my time and money as valuable commodities not to be aimlessly squanderd. But I think that I will be in a more secure position to get back out there soon enough.

Never became boring probably because i was doing it wrong and fighting for my life.

it did take a toll on me again because of the above

Improved my sex life. Excellent for stress. Need it for breakfast and dinner at least when day trading. Testosterone injections are the best sex drug by far imo.

Hats off to anyone making money consistently.

The pressure of trading full-time, relying on it as your sole or primary income, is immense.

I would recommend not doing it unless you are rich enough to pay your monthly nut from rents or bond coupons. Even then, have a plan B.
