How do you reduce cost of trade when selling options?

I’d be interested to see how a SPAN acct would compare. I was unaware until now of the different margin accounts that could be done with derivatives in mind

Ah I see. Lol I ain’t that risky. I just wanna initiate a spread without locking up my whole acct for half a month for about a 1-2k gain

Narrow your spread or trade the spy instead. With a 40k account tying up a max risk of $4500 is more than 10% of your capital risked on one trade? Am I missing something here?
