How do you distinguish between the belief in God and the occult?

Quote from CaptainObvious:

Hit's the nail on the head. Most atheists are so totally anti-religion they are completely unable to distinguish between the two, and that science has become their religion and anyone with a PHD is their own deity. Anyone who agrees with them of course. Point out someone in the field of science that is a believer in a Creator...well of course, they are horribly misguided.
Bottom line is the atheists here are as thick headed as are the true believer christian fundamentalists who believe the world is only 6000 years old. Pointing that out makes them angry. The whole pot and kettle thing, don't ya' know. My opinion, they deserve each other.

You only say that because you are religious and anti-atheist.

Good dog. Tell another lie. :p

That was YOUR contorted "reasoning" that you "thought" showed problems with Pascal's Wager.
Quote from stu:

You're a creationist. You can't even understand your own reasoning when it is fed back to you.

.. you can't reason why, but only claim it is.

Good points, atheists don't believe in the existence of the Gods of religions, and that, and also other, to them, unsavory aspects of the religion industry, lead them to be, sometimes, strongly and fervently anti-religion. On the other hand, don't you think that part of your post I put into italics is perhaps a little too all encompassing? Afterall the "Godly" preach moderation in everything except their religious fervor. :D

Here is a philosophical argument for the god believers.
Could your god have existed only for the split second of the big bang and then was no more?

Sort of like a celestial suicide bomber?

Not with my understanding but I can see where one would think that plausible.

I myself view the universe as continually being created by God.

Wouldn't that be using a human measuring stick called "Time"?

As Einstein proved, Time is relative..... :D
