How Do We Nail the Bottom?

Quote from stock_trad3r:

The huge volume on october 10th indicated a bottom.

LOL!

If that was the case the volume should now be on the up days.....today was one of the lightest volume days in the past few weeks.....

Up is still up. October 10th was a climax bottom, which means that the volume on the following days should be lower.

You want to make a side bet?

Stock, you say you are almost right? Well the one time you were wrong it was a doozy! You put your reputation at stake and said we would never have another bear mkt. The spoo was above 1400 when you made this proclamation...Well lets just say you were a bit wrong, and furthermore your "index" got obliterated...Why do you think anybody reads what you post for any other reason than the comedic factor? The mkt will go higher when you go negative, you are the perfect fade, ever....

The index is just three months old. There are still nine more months.

This is not a typical bear similar to what has accompanied past recessions. More likely a depression.

If you're thinking "dead cat bounce", or "bear market counter", you're likely to do better.

So you think "it's different this time"?

Quote from blackbook:

the best way to a 'nail a bottom' is typically after its already been created.

That's what people who don't know how to identify bottoms say.

This comment brings to mind a story.

There was an old bull and a young bull happily grazing when suddenly the young bull looked up and spyed a herd of cows.
Exitedly he turned to the old bull and said " let's race down there and have us a cow". To which the old bull replied "Nah, lets stroll down there and have the lot"

Just because you're there early doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to be better off.

Trade what you see, not what you think is reflected in your crystal balls!
