How do I configure twin screens?

I run twin screens and they are configured to operate individually so that any programme opens in a single screen.

How can I configure them so that they combine into one screen giving me more room to view multiple windows within a single programme.
I have searched for the soln but just cannot find it

That function is within Windows XP Extended Desktop. For the desired application, just click the "maximize" button in the top right corner. (If it's not filling both screens, set it on "restore down" and drag the margins to fill both screens.)
