???what the heck did I just say? You quoted it, "unless liquidity is a problem"Quote from d08:
Assuming we are talking about short term trading.
The fact that you think trading with 10k or 10m is the same, tells a lot about you. It's not even remotely similar, you could only trade ES or a small selection of ETFs without considerably moving the price, even small amounts add up over time. That's why so many of the super-wealthy take longer perspectives, the problem of liquidity is taken out of the equation.
what the heck is it with you kids anyway? Percentage means everything. I can make 7 figures easy in T Bills if I start with enough.Quote from illiquid:
%'s mean close to nothing when you're talking about trading, paying rent, taxes, putting food on the table with your own money.
Had my best year personally, but closed the last month on a disappointing note. Will not be satisfied with less than a 7-figure year for 2012.
yes, this is a different matter. If the 50k is your deposit, I would brag about my return on 50k. I've gotten into this with prop traders before when they belittled my measley $8.50//hr I was making trading ES on a 28k account.Quote from cactus_trader:
also if you trade prop going by returns in a % is kind of pointless. $50k in an account and I have million + BP, for prop guys annual PnL is the only way
I know it's not kosher to advertise on ET, but if you want to settle this matter contact www.oldtimesurveyors.com. We do both long distance and microscopic measuring. And it sounds like for this contest you are going to need both.Quote from AKUMATOTENSHI:
You are welcome to come by my shop anytime and we can discuss the matter further. I am sure you have the time. You are being called out if you did not get the picture.

it aint that funny. I had the results I got from a mailer from Blackrock (and they have over a trillion under management.)Quote from KBaines:
The average mutual fund manager was down around 3.5% for 2011 and the average hedge fund was down in the 2% to 3% range. I guess all the winners in 2011 were at ET.

I must confess, I never traded 10m
If you can't make 10% trading ES with 10m that tells me a lot about you
