How did you do for 2011?

4 of my 5 worst career drawdowns this year, may, sept, nov, dec :( each one was between 25-30% drawdown. total year returns were still 87%... if only i didn't have one or two of those i would have hit triple digits again this year. dvar of 5%

% return is pretty irrelevant without knowing account size.

+1.

but percentage wise i'm sort of close to OP results. > than most of US workers, but far less than it use to be. 1/4 of the last year.. thinking to team up with ES :p
bottom line-it's good, but not as good as it use to be..

I squeeked out a 52% gain on my self-managed account.

I even stayed away from this place for most of 2011 which perhaps added to my bottom line.

Happy New Year and Good Trading!

I must be the dummy here as I only made 7.73%, but that worked out to $92,000. Profit-wise that was only 56% of what I made in 10 and 33% of 09 but I'm happy as most funds, both mutual and hedge funds, lost money in 11.

Started out OK things were on track made some good trades ... got burglarized lost 4 laptops, gold, time and took ownership of a small bussiness. 2012 is going to be a year where I really want to get some nasty revenge.
I think the the markets will have some high beta due to the election cycle. The SP 500 should be predictable and an easy trade, hold until after the election then sell. Oil and Gold will be my tools for next year.

2012 is going to Suck!
