How exactly did Lehman lose so much money???!

They only take all the boffins n geeks with min a decade's of uni degrees, and then pay them £100,000s pepr year just to pounce around, not actually even doing anything much,
so how exactly did they lose so much money???

And if those types of people are all crap at trading why do the banks and firms keep hiring people like that??? lol

It ALL boils down to a lack of integrity. Something as rare as hen's teeth in this modern world where the philosophy of Al Capone carries more weight.

Maybe we should start an auction for Lehman's. I would start the bidding at sixpence but I wouldn't want to get lumbered with a dud company LOL
 
What they did was smart. The business model promotes quick profits with high risk taking so that traders can collect large bonuses at the end of the year. It does not make sense for the traders to act in a way that would be more prudent risk management wise for the long term health of the company owing to the corporate structure of the investment bank.
