How Covid Lies Are we up to now?

It means the vax is not more or less effective than non-vax.
What!!! Exactly how many people are in the hospital there per 100,000. If every one is vaccinated every one in the hospital with Covid will be vaccinated, but there will be a very low hospitalization rate for Covid under those circumstances...

Apparently they have delta covid.

...The statistic in question comes from a paper published on July 30 in the agency’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, which documents an outbreak of COVID-19 in Barnstable County, Massachusetts — elsewhere specified as Provincetown — that primarily occurred in vaccinated people, following large public events in the first half of the month.

According to the report, of the 469 people included in the study who were in the area between July 3 and July 17 and tested positive for the coronavirus, 74% were fully vaccinated.
  • A total of five people were hospitalized, four of them vaccinated, and there were no deaths. 90% of the subset of people who had sequencing performed on their samples were infected with the delta variant.
  • Although not mentioned in the report, the outbreak overlapped with July Fourth weekend and “Bear Week,” Provincetown’s annual gathering of gay men; 85% of the identified infections were in males. In the summer, the town’s population swells to approximately 60,000 people.
The report noted that at the time of diagnostic testing, the amount of virus appeared to be about the same in vaccinated and unvaccinated people, a finding that the CDC cited in its decision on July 27 to recommend masks for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in indoor public spaces in areas with “substantial” or “high” transmission.

But the 74% figure, while correct, can be misleading without the proper context, experts say, because as vaccination rates increase, it’s entirely expected for a larger and larger proportion of people who are infected to be vaccinated. It doesn’t mean the vaccines don’t work.

“The problem is we are only looking at those who got infected, not at everyone in the area who was at risk of being infected,” Matthew Fox, an epidemiologist at Boston University School of Public Health, told us in an email. “Provincetown is an area with some of the highest vaccination rates in the country, so if the vaccine was not working, you’d expect the % vaccinated among the infected to be even higher than 75%, but we can’t say that for sure yet because we don’t know the denominators, we’d need more data. That said, all the carefully done studies to date that have included the denominators have shown the vaccine to be highly effective, even outside of the trials.”...

Numerous posts on Instagram and Facebook have nevertheless seized upon the 74% figure, often using screenshots of news headlines, without the proper context or with additional commentary to give the misleading impression that this is evidence that the vaccines don’t work, that vaccinated people are just as likely or even more likely to spread the virus as those who are unvaccinated, or that something nefarious is afoot...
----------

Summary, even if you're fully vaccinated...vaccines are not 100%, nobody said they're 100% and there never will be a vaccine that's 100% to prevent infection...sometimes called the efficacy.

In contrast, you want to look at the effectiveness to prevent you from being Hospitalized, ICU admission, or Death.

Therefore, if you're going to be indoors and outdoors with a large group of people, many of who you do not know...you still need to wear your face mask and social distance.

Simply, this is a Pandemic of those Not Vaccinated.

This is why many stores that have 100% fully vaccination among their employees...they still wear face masks because they know the science that vaccines are not 100% and there will be breakthrough cases. :D

Thank you for this bit of sanity. PCR is extremely sensitive in detecting exposure to Corona-19. It can't distinguish between who is contaminated with the virus, who is infected with the virus, and who has a robust immune response and who doesn't. The level of response has to be evaluated in other ways beyond the PCR test. If you have a robust immune response it is almost certain you will have the common symptoms of fever (it can be quite low grade) tiredness, and a general malaise and a feeling you are coming down with something. This will be all that many of those vaccinated will experience if they come into contact with a sufficient concentration of Covid-19. But a few will progress to develop other symptoms and become quite ill. Fewer still will require hospitalization, and a very few of the vaccinated whose health is seriously compromised may die. This is a distinctly different profile than that associated with the unvaccinated who come into contact with Covid-19 virus...

The Vaccines have been proven to be highly effective in preventing serious illness from Covid, and because they prevent those who have become contaminated with virus from becoming themselves virus factories, vaccination reduces the transmission rate, but only substantially after a very large fraction of the population becomes vaccinated. Yet the nonsense continues!!!

so you have learned from the lesson I taught you about your moronic statements a few weeks ago...and now you understand the test is unable to determine who is infectious.

I congratulate you for at least have the integrity to correct yourself when you are wrong about the science...

Its okay that you were unable to thank me for correcting you and apologize for acting like I was citing fake news.

I will post this to that thread if I have the chance...

All you have to do is get hold of the hospitalization rate for Covid infection (#/100K) in Isreal for vaccinated and compare it to the rate per 100K for unvaccinated. the latter rate will be a little higher but not much higher in isreal. Why just a little higher in Isreal? Because, dummy, if you have a population in which 97% are vaccinated, as you claim, the unvaccinated are protected as well!!!! The transmission rate has been substantially reduced by the very high rate of vaccination withing the population.

This is what we, the educated, have been trying to convey to you idiots all along. It's why Biden and the U.S. government has worked so hard to get nearly everyone vaccinated. Sixty percent vaccinated doesn't confer much protection to the unvaccinated. It's not nearly good enough. That's why it is so fucking selfish for you assholes to refuse to get vaccinated. Stop being so fucking selfish. Go out and get vaccinated. It is people like you that are going to leave us with a situation where we will be stuck with annual boosters for Covid. We had a good chance to wipe out transmission of the virus if all the dullards such as yourself had gotten vaccinated when asked to. These variants popping up are on you.

This is harsh, I know. But you are deserving of it. Get vaccinated, Jackass.

Read my response to Good1. You are also in the Jackass category.

Which is interesting till you find out that vaxxed as as much carriers, spreaders as anyone else.

Jackass.

Culatello di zibello, I bought in France, insanely expensive ham from Parma but it does have a hint of grape alright.
Atterino plum tomato I got here and buffalo mozzarella. I brought the local flour here which is hard to make pizza from on my little break and a friend in France who is an expert showed me how to work with it.
That sounds wonderful. That Parma ham. Those are the hams people rub with salt and hang in their basements in the fall for months. Very hard to find this side of the Atlantic! For the best pizza crust you need a high gluten flour. I like a thin crispy crust, so I roll it thin, deflate it, paint it with olive oil and pre-bake it at highest heat until browned a little. Than put the stuff on and bake for a few minutes again at high heat.
