How can I link up a common keyboard

I am replacing my notebook with another PC to give me a more robust setup.
One PC/screen for Fx and the other PC/screen for Futures.

Can I use one keyboard for both machines and how would I set it up please.

If you need it to be rock-solid go with a hardware KVM then you don't have to worry about a software bug causing you to have problems

For your setup only hook up the keyboard and the mouse to the KVM, not the monitors...works fine

I use the Belkin "FLIP" series KVM switch. 1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 1 LCD screen for 2 computers. They come with an external switch (which I like) instead of relying on the keyboard "hot key". An LED light (green or amber) to tell you which computer is 'hot". Very handy. About US$40 from Fry's.

They have a version that uses the mini-din connectors (PS/2) to hook up to your PCs. Another version that uses USB connectors. I have both. Work very well.
