How can American Airlines avoid bankruptcy this time?

Last time, energy costs were much lower and the consumer much more willing to take a trip. This time around oil is soooo highhhh.

I say there is a chance that American Airlines flies into the sunset with Delta and into the pinks....
 
there is a significant chance we have a flood of airline bankruptcies. a broken business model being completely exposed by high fuel costs.
 
Flew from Miami to SLC. The Pilot announced on the plane today that it cost 15k to fuel that plane to fly that trip.

If all the passengers paid what I paid for my ticket, Delta lost money on a 80% full plane.

My very rich pilot brother and his fly boy buddies can just take a pay cut until we resolve this fuel mess.
