How busy are you during the trading day?

You may not like what I say because it hits too close to home, but if you get past the emotion, it is all true.

As far as spacing out during the day, I am guilty of occasionally being distracted. I am constantly trying to reduce that amount of time. It certainly is not from playing video games. My distractions take the form of reading news stories over the wire that have no relevance to trading. I am working at the craft of trading and trying to get better. It is a humbling experience, but well worth the effort.

Who is this conan fellow?

I woke up about 7:30. Interesting that I slept through a whole night so easily. Called the weather, spent about 45 minutes reading some things on here. It was a bit odd that the last weather update was friday afternoon. Oh well, guess they missed the morning update.

Went to take a look out the window to see if it was raining yet. It seemed very dark out for this hour. The sky must be really clouded over. But it wasn't. It was dark blue. . .

Oh my god, it really is still friday, and I only slept a couple hours!
It was 7:30 p.m. when I woke up, not a.m.

discipline, trading is a business which does not mean you have make it an intense business. It depends what kind of trader you are. If you are a day trader then obviously you have to be alert. I trade EOD, if I get no signals, I don't trade. Basta EOS.

Good point. Heaven forbid you have any fun at what you are doing. That could really destroy your trading abilities.

Enjoyment in trading comes from the satisfaction of planning and executing appropriately. Not from profits. The trader who trades to perfect the art of trading in and of itself will be the truly successful trader in terms of both psychological and financial rewards.

Who says things have to be fun? Fun is not an entitlement. Some enjoy (or have fun) working hard and feeling a sense of accomplishment. Some have fun playing video games. Fun will not further the goal of being a trader (in the truest sense of the word). Go have some fun playing video games during the trading day. But, don't think you will ever be a master trader if that is what you do. I would love to trade in a crowd with traders who were playing video games at lunch or reading the papaer or looking at porn or baking cookies. That would be fun for me. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

I know I have a lot to learn. That is my point. I am constantly trying to learn. I try not to deviate from the path of learning about trading. Is that what you meant?

If you have some good advice, post it here as we all want to learn, right?
