House to vote on "In God We Trust" motto

Quote from kut2k2:

I thought what the Founding Fathers did was "sacred" to you phony patriots on the right. The Russians throw a little scare into your chickenshit chickenhawk asses and you toss out a perfectly good motto for a controversial, sanctimonious one. Par for the course for your ilk.

kut2k2,

Please put me on your ignore list as well, sir. I'll do the same for you. I've not seen a single worthwhile comment from you yet.

I'm interested to know how politicians would go about debating such a thing. Did they examine God's track record to decide if their trust in Him had been well placed? Did they consider alternatives like "God Help Us" or "God Forgive Us" ?

Maybe they should have considered Europe's new motto "In China We Trust".

Quote from kut2k2:

E pluribus unum was the motto proposed by the Founding Fathers. It served perfectly well until a theocratic minority in the commie-obsessed Fifties decided to violate the First Amendment of our Constitution by asserting "In God We Trust" should be the motto. Obama was trying to reinsert some sanity rather than promote the theocratic horsecrap of the right. I understand that you don't agree.

At least he didnt say our national motto was Harambee, meaning pull together in swahili (Kenyas national motto)
