Hot Keys...??

I have heard people say hot key trading in invaluable to trading futures. I have just started trading futures (eMini GLBX) and was wondering what type of functionality people use the hot keys for?

e.g
Buy offer
Buy bid
etc...

Do you set these up as F(keys) F1, F2 etc...

Or as (Shift + Keys) e.g. shift+B??

Everything is either F keys and a few others eg, ESC, End, Page Up etc.. I don't use the shift key for anything. I have all buy keys on one side (F1-F6) and sell keys on the other (F7-9 and others). I also have Transmit (\) and Cancel (ESC) on opposite sides.

i bought a progamable keypad from x-keys about 3 months ago, and it works really well. i have it set up that each key is set to my program hot key such as ctrl-B, so it allows me one key trade execution, and is seperate from my keyboard.

i think you can use it with anything, it just stores keystrokes that you program.
