Hoping Obama's place of birth truly was in Hawaii

How hard is to understand the supreme court by its indifference is sending a particular message. It is well past the time for certain people to "get the hint".

In this situation any statesman (or any sane person) if given a choice between preserving constitution and risking a civil war would choose to ignore the natural born clause EVEN IF IT WERE TRUE(I dispute the notion of Obama's Kenya birth)

OK, at long last an honest answer to the issue.
Instead of folks dismissing those of us who see this lack of verification of eligibility as "kooks", you have presented the opposing argument. You are probably correct in your assumptions, this 'water" has flowed to far past the bridge.

I do think, however, that true justice would be for the same government thugs that ripped Elian from the arms of his relatives, to go and rip Mr. Obama from the Oval office.

The issue will be if a methodology is established to verify a presidential candidates eligibility prior to inclusion on the ballot. The only hope for this happening , in my opinion, lies with the states.

Constitution didn't assign responsibility the Supreme Court to police the Constitution. They were given responsiblity to judge if laws passed were constitutional.

This will probably end up in the Supreme Court somehow but only if a case qualifies for them to have a interest in it. If it gets there then Obama will count on the new justices that he will appoint to the court. Appointed because they will agree to rule in is favor.

The way it gets to the court will probably be through a lawsuit Obama brings against a state that refuses to put him on the ballot because he did not offer proof of eligibity.

Constitution gave everything to the states except for what was explicitly laid out for the Feds to have.

Since there was no federal structure set up it was left up to the states.

The thing is no states ever set anything up either that or they in Obama's case declined to deal with it.

Oklahoma has recently had a bill pass the house and into the senate to stipulate that anyone on the presidential ballot has to prove there citizenship status. Other states should follow.

Barth Vader, how is Elian the same as Obama? Elian was born of Cuba, and his mother and father born there too. Obama have an American citizen mother, and born in Hawaii.
If your daughter lost her mother, and someone try to say your daughter will have the better life with someone that has more freedom and money than you, it is ok with you to have your daughter take away from you, her natural father? That is justice?

You may have point there aside from the legal ramifications. If they kick him out of office, I am hightailing it out of here......they will need to send a division of firetrucks.

Fair enough

Why would a mother take herself and her child in an aluminum fishing boat crammed with other people and endeavor to cross a large body of water to try and come to the US of A ?

The mother lost her life in the affore mentioned endeavor.
Could it be that she was willing to risk this hazzard for a chance at a better life for her son ?

The Clinton administration played politics with this situation [wet foot, dry foot had been the unofficial norm], and pretty much caved to Fidel. Reno sent in the BORTAC storm troopers and the rest is history.

WHY did hundreds of East Berliners lose their lives trying to cross the wall. Why do hundreds of Hispanics die in the desert trying to cross our border....same with North Koreans, Chinese, and any others who risk their lives to breathe free.........Answer this question and you will have your answer as to why it was a travesty to send Elian back to Fidel.

As far as the similarity to Mr. Obama, well since he seems unwilling or unable to provide verified documentation that complies with the "natural born citizen" clause of the constitution, then his occupying the White House is an act of benevolence by the so called protectors of the constitution, that was not afforded to Elian.

I am not saying that true justice would require the storm troopers to stick their MP5's in Mr. Obama's face, just a courteous escort outside the fence.
