Honestly, can you daytraders make money on choppy days like today?

Quote from RL8093:

Exactly.

Coming into today, you should be expecting a choppy market (although anything can happen). If you were expecting something different - you've got more work ahead.

One simple setup was the 10:36/10:56 doubletop on the ES / SPY.

A trait among many good traders is to be able to harvest profits under most market conditions - or at least be able to recognize the conditions where they have an edge - and only play in those conditions. If you 'need' a trend, today would have been a good day to do something else ....

I was 3 for 3 on the ES..my other trades I took on the ER2 today. I did not have an exact signal where you had your double top ES entry but I did see the set up there.

i guess if you are trading stocks you can make money on choppy days by picking the strongest or weakest stocks. But what about the people who trade ETFs? or options traders who trade options on ETFs (QQQQ, SPY, etc)? - its seems it would be difficult since most ETFs have been ranging less than 0.75% for the whole day. It so easy to get stopped out, so you just have to lower the profit targets substantially.

but, i don't really have much experience, i am still a beginner, is anyone making money trading ETFs on days with low volume and no clear trend?
