hmm.no edges in the markets

Quote from austinp:

actually, there is nothing else involved with successful trading other than the harvest of money. Trading is not supposed to be exciting. It is not supposed to be a self-measuring tool, a comparison to other type-A men, a sporting event, gambling venture, biggest swinging contest, bragging rights competition or anything else that has anything to do otherwise than pure money.

THAT is the secret of successful trading. Boring, bland, systematic execution, controlled emotions, do it while enjoying other tasks (web surfing, lifting weights, cooking, etc) and quit asap when profitable enough for the day.

Take the ego, the gambling and the game out of trading... it suddenly becomes a profitable profession when focused on the money alone
So your on the sell side, huh? :D

@nakachalet

I don't think the OP minds demonstrations of edges here. I've no idea what your cropped charts are saying, though. How enlightening it would be if you could schedule, say, a 1-hour trading time window within which to post a few live calls (entry and stop prices) so we can get some idea of what those charts are all about.

Now, I've attached a chart that offers price action traders a truly pleasurable viewing experience. Enjoy!

there is no table, and there are no other opponents. It is you and the dealer (market) alone. No one else is involved. Same as blackjack, totally unlike poker.

I don't play blackjack. Thus, I have to disagree with you. :D

Wonder if there's any chance of naka and nodoji doing a Combine challenge, like the one mav and surf had last year. Anyone else up for it?

Why do people insist that NoD, Cornix and others do a "combine"? Why insist on a combine for anyone?

Topstep Trader (the guys behind the combine) have really succeeded in creating hype and are getting a lot of free marketing on ET and other forums. They're really just another vendor.

Quote from chimera:

all i see is gambling...

In some ways there's truth to the statement by chimera.

For example, most traders start trading without a trading plan, ill prepare to manage the career as a trader or expose themselves to increase risk when lacking discipline, undercapitalized, lacking proper resources, lacking money management (risk control) and so on.

It's possible chimera see this as gambling when the odds aren't in the favor of the typical trader that usually fits the above description. Thus, I don't think chimera commentary is aimed at the few that are profitable...commentary only aimed at the majority that aren't profitable via reasons mentioned above.

Unfortunately, yella--- I don't think that's going to happen. Those folks are too much in love with looking at charts and saying " just imagine!" That's demonstrated here repeatedly here.
I would like to see it myself but they have too much to lose when their TA fails to work.

Here's an exercise to try. Imagine going into a casino with a business plan, everything you list and charts that chart the payout of a variety of games. Do you think you could consistently profit?
