History Lesson In the Printing Press and Hyper-Inflation

Quote from Hook N. Sinker:

You might study Zimbabwe, greatest inflation rate in the world now. Inflation rate about 1700 %. I read the average person in Zimbabwe can not buy basic necessities.

See what freedom gets you.

At least under Rhodesia. Ruled by mean old devil (white man) they had bread and a decent economy. No longer though.

Uhhh...tough luck.

Check this out by the way. Read the whole thing and try not to laugh.

Marijuana is a weed and it takes really nothing to keep it going in the wild... I knew a guy way back in the day that grew some on his neighbor's property.. and the neighbor was a Judge! The old judge guy never caught on... but hey, I have a zillion stories, none of which are suitable for instructing the youth of the nation....

I've watched Zimbabwe for years... it's a spin off from South African Marxism. They ran out the white farmers. Apartheid was terrible but the Marxism is downright satanic... and they don't seem to ever be able to have productivity... now I'm watching Venezuela.. it's just a matter of time for them....

NYTimes: "HARARE, Zimbabwe, April 25 — How bad is inflation in Zimbabwe? Well, consider this: at a supermarket near the center of this tatterdemalion capital, toilet paper costs $417. No, not per roll. Four hundred seventeen Zimbabwean dollars is the value of a single two-ply sheet. A roll costs $145,750 — in American currency, about 69 cents."

Quote from aeliodon:

People that talk negatively about Hilter's Germany don't know what the fu*k they're talking about. The guy was a hero - the only thing bad about him was that he went too far with the mistreatment of the Jews. But he kicked Europe's ass and quite frankly they deserved it. After Germany lost WW1, all the european nations where intent on never allowing Germany to ever rise again. They wanted to the nation to be forever burdened with unpayable debt and forever face humiliation as a nation unable to get back on its feet. Hilter got his revenge, and WW2 ended a 10,000 years of unending war in Europe.

For the Germans - in the beginning - he was indeed a hero. He gave them back their dignity. But stating that his only "fault" was the holocaust is really priceless. What have you been smoking?

Inflation what are you talking about they can't measure inflation b/c they have no goods in stores what so ever.

Zimbabwe's chief statistician has said it is impossible to work out the country's latest inflation rate because of the lack of goods in shops.
