Not sure what you would need in terms of back-testing software because I don't know what your trading rules are. Without giving away your exact system, what are your rules for buying and selling?

Not sure what you would need in terms of back-testing software because I don't know what your trading rules are. Without giving away your exact system, what are your rules for buying and selling?
My trading rules are very simple and my back testing is very simple in terms of what i test but the data i want out of it is intensive
what iam looking for the software to back test is very simple
buy or sell on daily chart based on macd signal, thats it as far as entry
what iam looking to test is whats the high/low in between two signals, whats the optimal exit in the sense where should i exit after i enter a signal, should it be 1%,2%,3%??? and so on.....
based on observations i have done manually, MACD signals are accurate 72% of the time on almost any instrument in the sense of whenever it fires off a signal in either direction (long or short) the isntruemnt tends to move that way, the catch here is that prices dont stay your way thus it becomes upon the user to exit once they have a profit, what iam back testing for is where do i exit? after 1% 2 or 3 etc....
lastly iam needing a software because i need to backtest the same thing even further horizontally (various settings of the macd) and vertically (various time frames) and then diagonolly (various markets) thus the amount involved is infinite as you can imagine

Fan27, thank u very much for this, it seems like all i need and more,,, iam working on learning the language and its programming requirements,
in the meantime i wanted to ask u if u know someone or a business that i can hire or consult with that can help bring me up to speed on this material and or code for me untill i capture how to do it myself,, any advice?
