President Biden’s first midterm performance for president is one of the best in modern history: Only in 1934 (FDR), 1962 (JFK), 2002 (Bush) did the president’s party not lose Senate seats and fewer than 10 House seats.
And unlike them he did not have a high approval rating.
I think there’s 2 factors behind this:New York Times: “Preliminary figures indicate that Democrats, particularly in swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan, benefited from a strong turnout of young voters, aged 18-29, the age group that regularly shows the strongest support for the party — and regularly votes the least.”
“But less certain and much debated after Tuesday’s vote was whether the turnout was particularly strong this year, or more a continuation of support seen in the last midterm election in 2018 — which restored the party’s control of both houses of Congress — or the 2020 vote that elected President Biden.”
Love this. Yeah, the problem is not your stupid fucking ideas which the majority does not like, it's only you need to message harder. Lol.Sarah Palin went nuclear on the Republican Party, “claiming the GOP sabotaged her Alaska House race and that they deserved their drubbing in the midterms,” The Independent reports.
“In a conspiracy-laden Instagram post, Ms Palin blamed the ‘cockamamie’ ranked choice voting system, Senator Lisa Murkowski and the ‘dark, dysfunctional GOP machine’ after she was seemingly trounced by Democrat Mary Peltola for a second time in three months.”
Said Palin: “The GOP establishment deserves losses until it’s willing to fight for what is right. They opposed me every step of the way in my Congressional bid, which is par for the course.”
