Using right triangles is hardly a proof of mastery of analytical geometry. Further, it's probable that during some points of history the indian subcontinent saw more development than the Han chinese, it's obviously incorrect to imply as you have that they have always been far more advanced. In any case, since given the natural difficulties of moving armies between the two, any discussions of who's "more advanced" boils down to nationalistic dick waving.
In any case, the Brits kicked both of their asses. I am of the opinion that while the less "spirtual" warlike spirits of western capitalism may not be all hugs and smiles, it's the best defense against others. Afterall, let's be honest here - Ghandi's non violence would probably have been more bloody if it weren't for the fact that the Brits were busy with the Germans. (Don't get me started on Ghandi, that's really off topic and I really find him hypocritical)

Hindus are great in propounding theories and building up stories that are almost mind-boggling. There is no greater story than the Mahabharat - every ideal has been explored and characters devised around themes that are eternal while at the same time inventing excuses for every transgression. The Hindu mythology has truly created what it seeks to explain - the concept of Maya. Rajnish adopted what Hindu mythology has been doing and the world was so befuddled that 97 Rolls Royces were gifted to him by admirers !
One wonders with all the great brains of Indians why they have not been able to solve the simple problems of the people. Greatest poverty, greatest exploitation, greatest dishonour to Women, all exist in India even today despite the compassionate teaching of the likes of Dattopant Thengdi. He has written books, has founded the biggest labout Union etc but who listens to him ? No one. It is because Indians today have turned into the most selfish, most servile. The educated class is the worst - of the 68 MBBS docs graduating from a college, 66 opted applied for US Visas. Why Govt permits it ? Paralysis on every front!
Most contributors to this Forum lead must be Indians and Traders. I don't know how many are making money. if they show some solidarity and help each other - they can become a Thundering Herd. But no, it is safe to take up a job with ML or Amex or GS--------- everywhere Indians are in top tiers of management but only as "servers" facilitating the aims of outsiders.
Even though individually they are tops, collectively, they must hang their head in shame. Feel sorry.

This is exactly the problem with the original post. It's a whole lot of "this is how we ought to be," but deals not one second with what is, how we got here, and why we got here. A 10 year old can write a bunch of drivel about a utopia future. But as we grow older, we understand the complex interactions that underlies humanity.

This is nonsense. Travel to India then and see how they live. Their philosophy is a failure and their religious belief on why poverty and wealth exists will shock your mind.

The US can curb the corporate greed anytime they want to. They can redefine the role of a corporation. Currently it's "to make money" and is so because the public sector wants tax revenues. They are not getting much out of corporations though because they can buy political favor so very easily.
If a real leader with vision came along this necessary change [for the environment, the poor, the culture at large] could possibly be instituted, hard to know just how much of a fight the corporations would put up...

don't just rely heavily on what you read in newspapers, all is not bad about India, & as a matter fact the rising rich poor gap in India is coz the nation has strayed away from the core principles of hinduism & other dharmic religions that originated there. Divisive politics, reservation & corruption are a few of the contributing reasons.
