executed Shahram Amiri, an Iranian nuclear scientist convicted of spying on behalf of the United States.

Iran executed a nuclear scientist convicted of spying for the United States, an official said Sunday, acknowledging for the first time that the nation secretly detained and tried a man who was once heralded as a hero.

Shahram Amiri defected to the U.S. at the height of Western efforts to thwart Iran's nuclear program. When he returned in 2010, he was welcomed with flowers by government leaders and even went on the Iranian talk-show circuit. Then he mysteriously disappeared.

How Amiri was exposed as a spy is still unclear, especially since he was praised by the Iranian government just a few years ago, but according to Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton his name was mentioned multiple times in emails by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on her private, unsecured email server.

"I’m not going to comment on what he may or may not have done for the United States government, but in the emails that were on Hillary Clinton’s private server, there were conversations among her senior advisers about this gentleman,” Cotton said during an interview on CBS News' Face The Nation Sunday morning.

In July when FBI Director James Comey announced charges would not be brought against Clinton for storing top secret, classified information on a private email server, which put the lives of human intelligence sources around the world at serious risk, he said although the FBI couldn't find evidence of a hack on the server, it would be difficult to tell if there had been a breach by professional and bad state actors. Essentially, he heavily implied a hack was likely to have occurred based on the extreme lack of security on Clinton's private email server.

Correction: A previous version of this post stated Senator Cotton as from Kentucky. That is incorrect. He is the Senator from Arkansas. Apologies for the error.

Haven't seen it yet. Would you recommend it? According to the producer, everything in it is factual. except of course, your findings.

Yes everyone should go see this movie. Well done. Hard to pinpoint what genre it would be. Documentary? The producer said he would put it in the "horror" category.

It was nice to see the producer get some revenge with this after they nailed him for giving too much money to someone running for office. They took away his right to vote as just one aspect of the penalty they meeted out to him. It was implied that Obama was behind it, since his last documentary was "Obama's America".

The producer said he could never make people watch over an hour of just Hillary, so he started with the origins of the Democratic party, going back to Andrew Jackson. Apparently that's when it started.

Upon reading more history from a series of books on presidents copyright 1967 American Heritage, YES, it appears the Democrats were indeed the party of slavery.

Jackson was such a personality that his followers were sometimes called Jacksonians, instead of Democrats, but indeed, he ran on a Democratic ticket. It was like his party, almost like the GOP is Trump's party now.

Yes, Jackson "speculated in land and slaves" (and something else can't remember), and was probably more of an Indian hater as much as an Indian fighter (they made such distinctions in those days).

There was an extreme wing of the Democratic party called the "Barnburners" who were actually against slavery (for abolition). Jackson was NOT a Barnburner, but eventually, Van Buren, his second term VP, drifted toward the Barnburners, and then "Free-soil" abolitionist Whigs or something. Van Buren bolted from the Democratic party, and was eventually elected president on the idea of not extending slavery to new territories/states.

From what i gather, the Democratic party was all about retaining, and even extending slavery.

The Democratic Party has always been the party of chains and bondage. Today they have just traded out one form of slavery for another.
